Tokubetsu Hozon
This is a magnificent fuchi made of shakudo, featuring a crane against the backdrop of the sun. The reverse side depicts ferns .
The high level of craftsmanship and exquisite design indicate that it was indeed created by the great master Iwamoto Konkan.
He studied under the 1st gen. Ryokan and used at that time the name „Ryo’un” .
Later he was adopted by Ryokan and succeeded as the 6th head of the Iwamoto family.
He was entirely engulfed in the then bloom of the Edo style.
He was not only a kinko artist but also a calligrapher, a painter, a poet and a storyteller
