The saya designed in aogai and decorated with rearing horses and plum-blossom family crests in red lacquer, the koiguchi, seme-gane and saya-jiri shakudo and gold carved with crashing waves with gold dots of foam, the seppa and fuchi-gashira designed to match the saya hardware, tsuka wrapped with black silk over brocade and mounted with Dragon, swallow, kirin and minogame menuki in iroe takabori, shakudo and iron tachi-style mokko tsuba
