A Imperial presentation silver and mixed-metal tobacco box

Rectangular with rounded edges and decorated on the cover with two Pekingese carved in high relief, the fur rendered in fine lines and patinated dark in patches, the eyes highlighted in gold, all set against a hazy rogin ishime ground, the sides of the box decorated with blossoming flowers in katakiri-bori with flush inlays of copper and gold, the interior undecorated, signed Yoshimori and sealed in gold Tetsukotsudonin and Hoshu so Shomin koku (Chiseled by old Hoshu Somin)

With a wood storage box inscribed on the exterior Goibutsu gotabako ire ginsei inu and with a paper label bearing the Imperial crest, and with a paper label on the interior bearing the Imperial crest and inscribed Meiji Tenno heika goibutsu and dated Taisho gannen junigatsu sanjunichi gohairyo (Received from the Meiji Emperor on 1912.12.30) 6 x 2 3/16in (15 x 5.5cm)
