A superb & strong very fine iron sukashi Tsuba

Jidai (era) : Momoyama to early Edo period, 16th / 17th century

Material : very well forged & finely carved beautiful iron

with a very fine & very elegant well balanced symmetrical

composition design in sukashi / cut-out in to the space,

with a smooth rich & silky-wet deep dark chocolate brown patina.

Very good & fine iron, a very beautiful & very elegant strong workmanship !

Sizes : 7.8 cm x 7.7 cm or just about 3-1/16″ x 3″+

Thick tsuba with & strong concave shape, typical Owari school,

Thickness sizes are : 7.2 mm at the rim & about to 4.2 at seppa-dai / center
