An Iron and Multi-Metal Tsuba With Kappa
A large, squared-mokko shaped tsuba executed in iron and multi-metals with a kappa under a lotus umbrella crossing a bridge, sheets of fine rain falling diagonally, details overlaid in gold. On the reverse, rain falls over shakudo branches and gold reeds alongside the road. This charming tsuba is in excellent condition with very minor rust, commensurate with age. Edo Period, Japan
