Of oval form, carved in takabori with five bats in flight, dated Kansei kanoe-inu, natsu (Summer in the 2nd year of Kansei, 1790) Nobuchika gonomi, signed Goto Seijo with kao.

The maker is probably that cited in Haynes, Index, no.H 08070. Goto Seijo (1747-1814) worked in a different manner from others of the Goto school and, although he adopted the same name as Goto Seijo the third, his relationship to the former is unknown.
