A tsuba signed Furugawa Genchin. A student of the first Yokoya Somin, he was a prolific artist, making many kozuka in katakiribori. He started his own school, based on katakiribori, but not based on the style of Somin. 7.09 cm x 6.84 cm x 4.5 mm. Haynes H.00565.0. Wakayama, reading the mei as Mototaka, while okubo reads the name as Motoyoshi. However, since he was the father of Furukawa Jochin, Genchin would seem to be the best reading.
