Each bearing a nanako ground, carved in takabori and inlaid in gold and silver takazogan with snow-covered bamboo and kaki-tree, the kogai signed Goto Taijo with kao. (2).

Goto Taijo (1631-1701) was the fifth son of Goto Sokujo and founder of the Jizaemon Goto sideline: see Haynes, Index, no.H 09247.
