This Fuchi-gashira sword features a quarter-inch, sculpted design of a “victory insect” (katsumushi), inscribed by Nakagawa Isshō Toun. It features high-pitched engraving, hair

engraving, and colored inlay. It comes in a special paulownia wood box and comes with a certificate of appraisal from Shibata Mitsuo. This Fuchi-gashira is a masterpiece of incredible craftsmanship.

The subject is a dragonfly (victory insect), a favorite of samurai warriors, and the dragonfly gracefully

dances through a field. It is considered a masterpiece of important sword fittings. Shibata Mitsuo is a

sword appraiser on TV Tokyo’s “Kaiun! Nandemo Kanteidan” (Lucky L … According to this, he was known as Issho between 1853 (Kaei 6) and 1862 (Bunkyu 2). *Book not included. His

【縁頭】 中川一勝韜雲作 在銘 専用桐箱入
