Inscription: Kishu Ju Sadanaga TSUBA #074

The Inscription says “Kishu Ju Sadanaga 紀州住貞命” on the front side – Sadanaga(there were few “Sadanagas” ) who were representative craftsman of Kishu group in Edo period.

Round Iron Tsuba with motifs of catches (hikite) of sliding doors (fusuma) and plum blossoms in open work.
According to NTKK(Nihon Tosogu Kenkyukai) certificate, it is a mid Edo era iron Tsuba attributed to “Kishu Sadanaga 紀州貞命 and is also described as a typical of the style of his openworks with plum blossoms and Hikite on well tempered iron.
