Once there were two gigantic waterwheels installed on the Yodo River, which initially transported water into Yodo Castle and to surrounding farms. Later, however, the water was exclusively used for the castle, but maintenance turned out to be too expansive and so the river was left alone to change its course naturally. One wheel has diameter of 14,5 meters and it was a famous attraction and a landmark of the district for a long time.
