The blade by Bizen Kiyomitsu, dated 1546
The blade of hira-zukuri form, medium shallow notare-ba of nie and nioi, itame-hada, with pierced dragon and ken horimono, the nakago with two mekugi-ana, signed Bizen (no) kuni ju, Osafune Kiyomitsu and dated Tenmon jugo-nen hachi-gatsuhi (A day in August of Tenmon 15 [1546]); with koshirae: the saya of nashiji and roiro, lacquered with peonies in gold takamakie; the silver fittings carved with a mass of peonies, inlaid with bees in shakudo and gilt metal, the menuki in the form of bees, the kozuka signed Nagatsune with kao, the fuchi signed Echizen Daijo Nagatsune with kao.
The blade 31cm (12 1/8in) long.
