Hon-zukuri, iori-mune, chu-gissaki, torii-zori, forged in a flowing itame-hada, the tempered edge choji-midare and kawazuko-choji with a haki-kake boshi, the tang ubu, kuri-jiri with two holes and suji-kai file marks, signed Soshu ju Masahiro; one-piece gilt-copper habaki; 18 3/4in (47.6cm) long

The daisho koshirae comprising polished ray-skin wrapped saya, the sho fitted with an iron kozuka decorated with floral roundels in gold nunome; tsuka wrapped in blue silk and mounted with shakudo migaki-ji fuchi-gashira carved with scenes from the Tale of the Heike in gold and shakudo taka-zogan and taka-bori, and gilt-copper menuki carved as dragons; the daisho iron Kenjo school tsuba decorated with geometric patterns and floral roundels in gold nunome
