This one is still a bit of a head scratcher. This mokko shaped tsuba measures 82.8mm(H) X 78.5mm(W) X 4.32mm(T, seppa dai), 4.57mm(T, body, max). The piece weighs in at 179.2g (feels real heavy).
the base of the piece seems to be shakudo, with a patchwork of pieces with different patterns that appear to be fitted to the surface. The darker patches are lacquered, but I am having trouble figuring out if the visible gold is lacquer as well or if all of these pieces are just low karat gold or something.
