Tsuba GOTO MITSUYASU

This tsuba is made of high-quality shakudo and inlaid with gold and silver
The tsuba depicts «Shikunshi» translates to “Four Gentlemen” in Japanese and refers to the four plants: plum blossoms, bamboo, orchids, and chrysanthemums.
These plants were associated with noble qualities and virtues by Chinese intellectuals.
Plum blossoms (ume): Symbolize fortitude, perseverance, and beauty in the face of hardship, particularly during winter.
Bamboo (take): Represents flexibility, resilience, and uprightness.
Orchids (ran): Symbolize refinement, elegance, and spiritual purity.
Chrysanthemums (kiku): Represent longevity, nobility, and a love of nature.
