Tsuba [Yurakusai Sekibun Taketora-zu Tsuba][N.B.T.H.K] Tokubetsu Hozon Tousougu
This is a tsuba inscribed with Yurakusai Sekimon. His family name is Katsurano, and his first name is Shozo. He was born in Murakami, Echigo Province as the second son of Unken. In his youth, he went to Edo to study under the Hamano clan, and during that time he traveled to Kyoto and other places to study. In the 7th year of Bunsei, at the age of 35, he became a maid for the Sakai family of the Shonai domain. In his later years, he called himself Sekibun Sanjin, and then called himself Higashio. In this work, a tiger is placed in the center of the front of the tsuba, and the eyes are inlaid with gold and gold. Clouds and wind are boldly carved on the back using the technique of suzuki carving. I would like to introduce this sword as a large-scale masterpiece.
