very interesting tsuba with Chinese roots, I think. I’d be grateful for your thoughts on it.

Very nice! That brass overlay we also see on Sinhalese work which made me and James Lancel McElhinney think this group of tsuba may have been from there, for the Japanese market through the VOC. This one is much more Chinese themed though than the others. Very nice piece.
